The Prikkelzakje is a compact trial package with 6 different sensory products that allow children to experience in an accessible way what kind of stimuli help them to focus better or to calm down.
It is precisely this trying out that is so valuable, because every nervous system reacts differently to stimuli. What helps today may be different tomorrow. By discovering together what works, your child gains words and tools to better understand and manage themselves.
What's in the Prikkelzakje?
- Balance finger bird: a small balance toy that encourages calm movement and looking. Helps to slow down and can support attention.
- 2 different squish balls: for squeezing and applying pressure. Especially useful for understimulation: firm input through pressure can help to 'switch on' and listen better. Deep pressure also helps many children to relieve tension.
- Acupressure rings: provide a clear tactile and pressure stimulus around the fingers. Often works well as stress relief and as subtle fidget material.
- Magnetic discs: for fidgeting and seeking tactile stimuli. The clicking and 'on/off' action can be helpful for regulation.
- Squish maze: a sensory stimulus through sight, touch and soft sound. Great for children who benefit from multiple stimuli at once to decompress.
Please note: It may be that a product is temporarily unavailable. An alternative will then be carefully sought so that the package always consists of enough variety.
When can the Prikkelzakje help? For example with:
- Homework or a moment of concentration
- After school to de-stimulate
- Waiting (in the car, at the doctor's, in a restaurant)
- Exciting moments or changes (in the dentist's chair)
- During a quiet play moment to keep hands busy (during a movie)

Do you notice that your child quickly gets overwhelmed, stays 'on', or has difficulty concentrating and sitting still? This can be related to sensory processing: the way someone processes stimuli (sounds, crowds, touch, movement, emotions) and reacts to them. Sensory aids can then be helpful.
