The mouse acts as a kind of threading needle, allowing the thread to easily slide through the large holes in the cheese.
By moving the mouse diagonally through the cheese, the string can gradually shorten. The string can then be pulled back, allowing children to repeat and practice playfully. For younger children, an adult can assist, but as their dexterity grows, they can do this more independently.
