This tandem board from Threewood is a real challenge for both hemispheres of the brain. On one side, a spiral unfolds like a growing tree – the "Tree" – moving inward and outward. On the other side, the "Zoom" forms a square shape, spiraling inward like a gradually narrowing spiral.
By following the paths with the wooden sticks or fingers, first separately and then simultaneously, children learn to use both hands in harmony. These movements stimulate cooperation between the left and right hemispheres of the brain and strengthen the corpus callosum – the bridge in the brain that exchanges information between the two sides.
Besides fine motor skills, this board also trains executive functions like concentration, perseverance, and planning. And for those who enjoy an extra challenge, you can use the board as a balance game: roll the marbles without your hands by holding the edges and gently tilting them.
