13 Play Suggestions with Dobble and a Dice with Inserts
I accidentally discovered that Dobble game cards fit perfectly into the insert dice. But what now? A call for game ideas brought my customers' creativity to life, and here's a collection of game rules that can be played with this combination:
Miriam from Oog voor Kind (Eye for Child):
1. Dobble Relay
Materials
• Insert dice with 6 Dobble symbols
• Dobble cards
Gameplay
Work in pairs. Place 20 cards in the classroom or room.
Child 1 rolls the insert dice with the 6 Dobble cards.
Child 2 looks at the rolled card and searches the room for another card with the same symbol. Found? Child 2 passes the symbol to Child 1.
Is it correct?
Then roles are swapped.
Agree on a playing time, for example, 10 minutes.
2. Run to the Correct Symbol
Materials
• Insert dice with 6 Dobble symbols
• Dobble cards
Gameplay
Place 10 to 20 Dobble cards scattered throughout the room.
Roll the insert dice with 6 Dobble cards inside.
Children run to a card with the rolled symbol on it.
Whoever points to a correct card first earns a point.
Agree on a playing time, for example, 10 minutes.
3. Dobble Scavenger Hunt at Home
Materials
• Insert dice with 6 Dobble symbols
• Dobble cards
Gameplay
Roll the dice.
Find something in the house that resembles the rolled symbol.
For example:
• a key
• a cup
• a star
• a candle
• glasses

4. Story Creation:
Choose two symbols from the card. Create a nice sentence with them.
Roll the dice.
The next player also chooses two symbols from the card and creates a nice sentence.
And so on and so forth, together you create a beautiful story!
Symbols may be repeated… is there a main character in the story?
Lucie thought of:
5. Place four cards in the slots. Whoever first sees a matching image can take them out and add them to their pile. Basically the same as the regular way, but now with double chances. I'm going to use it immediately in my pediatric physical therapy practice! Dobble is always such a fun little game to end a session with after 25 minutes of hard work. And I also have to pay close attention and be alert myself.

7. Game idea:
- each player places a card on the table. Roll the dice. Find the match between your card and the dice card as quickly as possible.
- I would give each player a card and then roll the dice. Whoever finds a match first with their own card and the card on top of the dice can take a new card from the stack and add it to their own stack.
And.......keep rolling. The person with the most cards wins.
Dieuwke has many ideas but chooses a movement game:
8. Movement game: choose a picture and imitate it. You can have the other participants guess what it is.
All kinds of language games are also possible: coming up with sentences with the pictures or rhyming words, etc.

I'm going on holiday and I'm taking… each time after rolling the dice, see which one you choose. And be careful not to choose one that has already been picked!

10. 10-Card Game
Everyone has 10 cards. One person rolls the dice. Whoever first finds three of the same images from their own pile wins that round. Those cards are removed. They can take as many new cards from the stack as they wish and can roll. Continue until all cards are gone. The person who then has the fewest cards or no cards left wins.

For writing education, combined with gross motor skills / balance and spatial awareness:
Roll the dice.
Round 1: which object on the card is the largest? Jump on 2 legs to the table and write down this word.
Roll the dice.
Round 2: which object is the smallest in real life? Hop to the table and write down this word.
Roll the dice.
Round 3: which animal do you see on the card? Jump wide-close to the table and write down this word.
Roll the dice.
Round 4: what is the first letter of your name and what do you see on the card that starts with the same first letter? Walk with a crossover step to the table and write down this word.

Round 5: What is on the card that you can eat? Jump backward to the table and write down this word.

Round 6: Which animal is the fastest? Jump wide-hop to the table and write down this word.

12. Qualities-Dobble (for, among others, children's coaches)
Children roll the dice and choose an image from the Dobble card that is on top. Then they think about which quality matches that picture, such as perseverance, helpfulness, creativity, or courage. After that, they tell if and when they have shown this quality. This creates an accessible game that stimulates self-confidence, reflection, and a positive self-image.

13. Dice Game (Dobblesteen)
If you play with, for example, 2 people, you divide the Dobble cards into 3 piles, 1 pile is for the dice where you put cards in.
Player 1 rolls the dice, the players take their own card from their pile. Whoever matches first with the dice gets the card from the dice. A new card from the dice pile is then placed there. And so on…
It's funny to call this variant "Dobblesteen" (Dice Stone) 😉
